Core Conditioning
Simply a core workout centered around abdominals, back, triceps, and chest. Nothing particularly interesting.

First two days of detox almost at a close.
Not exactly the most inviting of days, but the rain held off and given just how dark it was and yesterday’s weather, it was surprisingly warmer.
A Morning Mile to open the day after English instruction; I made my morning mile a midday mile today. I returned to the track shortly after lunch for seven single mile runs split up by rest time spent in core conditioning for abdominals, back, triceps, and chest. All miles were completed below 5:15 and the morning mile proved to be the fastest. It’s a rare day this happens. I don’t know weather to be happy that I was able to run the days best cold or to be angry that I ran slower after warming up and refueling… I’ll go with happy just to keep a smile alive.
Conserved as much energy as possible today. Tomorrow is a high mileage day at 90%. However, each mile will have an active recovery once again. Should the weather hold out again, the plan is Morning Mile plus 42K pace work. The day will close with a final core workout.

Well, it’s not really the first day back in training. I had never stopped clocking mileage and the past two weeks I have been in preparatory training, but today does mark the first day of a re-entrance into intensive training and detox… and I already miss my food.
Anyways, it’s mid Sunday morning here in Madrid and the city is fast asleep still. “Still”… most didn’t return home from Saturday night until three or four hours ago. Given my own lack of Holiday festivities this December, it would have been nice to join them all last night. However, I still have New Years to look forward to.
Although it is my only rest day before I begin, today does mark the beginning of a brief detox period, as I said before. This is only planned for two weeks, but I may extend it to three. This all depends on its impact on my training and weight.
This plan has no particularly interesting characteristics. I may, once or twice, reach outside the plan for tuna (then again on New Years for toast perhaps). I would only do this should I feel I am in need of greater protein, but I will try to curb this as best I am able. Considering I eat five or six times a day, I hope that one or two servings of tuna during a two week period will not have that much of an impact.
I do have a much longer and much more regulated detox planned, but that is for another time. This is simply a quick pick-me-up for the system.
I will detail the training as best I can from day to day.
Enjoy your Holidays, huge your families, and LIVESTRONG!
